In 2020 we started the project SamenOpHetFietspad (TogetherWeCycle). This project uses the local contexts of relevant Dutch municipalities and regions where crowdedness on the bike lanes leads to tensions and conflicts between users.

The UvA's Marco te Brömmelstroet and Jarvis Suslowicz collaborate with BAM Infra's Anne-Carlijn Kommers and Sander Buningh work with road authorities and knowledge institutes. This project uses the local contexts of relevant Dutch municipalities and regions where crowdedness on the bike path (e.g. diversity of modes, speed differences and road design) leads to tensions and conflicts between users. We use academic literature on conflict (management) and stigmatization and study integral solution directions that include physical infrastructure, services and behavior change. This summer we expect the first results of the project. For more information and contact see the website
