I am a postdoctoral researcher in urban geography at the University of Amsterdam specialized social and spatial inequalities on the housing market and in cities. In 2017 I defended my PhD thesis "Inequaltiy in the gentrifying European city" Cum Laude (with distinction). In 2019 I was awarded the NWO VENI Grant.
Apart from doing research, I pride myself in actively contributing to public debate. I regularly write op-eds for newspapers and online media such as Sociale Vraagstukken, Joop and StukRoodVlees. Since June 2019 I write a bi-weekly column for Dutch news website RTL Z.
I am also editor and secretary of the Dutch peer-reviewed journal Beleid en Maatschappij.
